The Gift of Knowing, Final Bidding

In the morn he woke quite quickly
He avoided her and swiftly
Left his home in which she slept
The night before

In her presence barely sleeping
He remembered insane whispering
And his blood was cold as ice
As was his will

For this day he would be ending
Her infatuated lurking
And pure evil she dispelled
to all she met

His mission to convince her
To meet him, in silent splendor
As he would plan a twilight meeting
Made for them

He would then be sure to kill her
She the lamb for him to slaughter
As she did to his beloved last they met

“Oh how lovely” she exclaimed
For at last his message came
Baiting her with words of love
And gratitude

She prepared herself to be
So alluring he would need
Be tied down lest he be wild
Without conviction

The time had come at last
She was off to meet her love
He was laying out the plan for her demise

As she entered his death trap
She appeared perfectly relaxed
It was he who was the hunter
Of this sleuth

“Come to me” he said so sweetly
She approached him wanting deeply
To accept him for she knew he love at last

As the two of them embraced
It was he who fell from grace
As one hand was holding her
The other blade

And with fury in his eyes
He plunged his blade
Deeply inside her
And she pulled him
to the ground
as she fell fast

With her blood in pools beneath her
She let out a quiet whimper
While her face contorted
Not in fear but glee

As he had planned to slaughter
She had similarly pondered
And arrived with her own tool
To bring him with her

Before he could perceive it
She had wrapped the rope and seized him
Round his neck she tightened
Ungodly strength bestowed

They lay down again together
But this time they lay forever
For they died as she intended
Forever more

The gift of knowing be,
That this woman you may see
In the mirror as you wait for him to call

Let this story be a warning
that if men come too adoring
You’d be wise to
keep some distance
Until you see

That his motive be of value
Not of those who are immoral
And you do what you know
What is right and true.

About goplayintraffic

My Blog, which began as a mommy blog and turned into a writing website,, is the product of my years of being home with my children and trying to find ways to keep myself sane. I have always had this feeling, coming from a single mother, that I have to contribute financially and that I have to be able to take care of myself and my children. having been married, being a NYC school teacher, having four children, living in Newtown, CT and trying to find a way to get through each day with a smile has always been something I've strived for. My stories, articles and poems will do a lot of things but mostly make you feel. I think that is what is so wonderful about having the ability to write. I have been given the gift of taking my emotions and transferring them to written word. Once that is done, I can share those words with others who may feel better, maybe just for a moment, but better nonetheless having read my words. I am glad you are here and hope you will stay:)
